MEG owns a 100% working interest in over 700 square miles of oil sands leases, with its principal asset being 80 contiguous square miles of oil sands leases in the Christina Lake area which form the basis of MEG's Christina Lake Regional Project. The majority of MEG's efforts have been devoted to Phase I (3,000 bpd) and Phase II (cumulative 25,000 bpd) of the Christina Lake Regional Project. This project is being be developed through a phased development plan which is designed to reduce project capital investment risk and execution risk as well as provide for ease of expansion.
MEG also owns a 50% interest in a planned 343 km dual pipeline system known as the ACCESS Pipeline beginning at its oil sands leases in Christina Lake and terminating near Edmonton, Alberta.
